The Red Crab Alimango House

As promised from my previous entry, here’s my restaurant review of Red Crab

We were kind of hesitant to eat lunch at this restaurant because they also have a branch at Tomas Morato. We didn’t drive all the way to Resorts World Manila just to eat in a resto that also has a branch we could easily get by in less than 30 minutes, did we? But the free wi-fi sign caught our attention, so it was a sounding yes! HAHA!

First OTD and (more) food post

By now, you all should/might be thinking why I’m always blogging about food! HAHAHA! Sorry if I always make you guys hungry! So to spice things up a bit… here’s my first ever outfit of the day (OTD) post.

[Top: Forever21 | Skirt: Forever21 | Shoes: Parisian]

These pictures were taken last Sunday (‘cause I love the lighting in our room and was in the good mood for picture taking. Thanks sister, btw!). My family and I were to attend a soft opening of a restaurant called Torch that day. They offer American, Italian and Japanese cuisines.

Here’s a little tour of what’s inside Torch. I liked their kitchen area as it was visible to us diners. Reminds me of the show MasterChef US for some reason. The restaurant is also very spacious and well-lit.

For appetizer we ordered Truffle fries (Php 234) — crispy potato fries tossed in truffle oil and served with their very own Peppermill dressing. I really appreciated that the potatoes were cut in large sizes. And it didn’t taste bland so you can do away with the dressing.

Next one to be served was this Philly cheese steak pizza (Php 349.95). The menu says it’s a classic Philly cheese steak sandwich filling on a fresh, oven baked thin crust topped with mozerella and cream cheese. Oh boy, I love thin crusts! So this one’s a winner for me :)

My brother ordered this Buffalo Asian Chicken (Php 324.95). They used 2 kinds of sauces to marinate the chickens, hence you’ll notice different colors. I tried one, and I find it crunchy and spicy (just the way I like it). Too bad the waiter didn’t serve my brother’s rice!

My dad’s order — Plain Burger (Php 284.95), which the menu described as 100% US angus beef patty served on toasted burger buns. My dad was happy with the serving size.

The two pictures above are called Volcano Roll (Php 324.95). It’s made up of freshly baked sushi roll filled with tempura, tomago and Japanese cucumber, and topped with spice baked US scallops. This is definitely a must try because it’s quite unique and rich in flavor.

Lastly, for dessert (but actually it’s listed in appetizer LOL) we ordered this Sweet Potato Fries (Php 199.95). I love the serving glass! But sadly, I wasn’t fond of fries with confectionery sugar. My siblings enjoyed it, though.

WOW! Blogging about this made me hungry again. Thank you to my brother’s friend who invited us here. We also got 30% off since it’s just their soft opening.

Torch is located at Home Studio Bldg., 63 Connecticut St., Greenhills, San Juan. Just beside Ford. And along the streets of Amici and Conti’s. Ample parking spaces are available.
